Liam Gallagher
Liam Gallagher was born on September 21, 1972 in Manchester England to parents Peggy and Thomas Gallagher. He is the youngest of three sons, his brothers being Paul and Noel (a fellow band member). As a child, Liam lived a difficult life. He suffered by abuse from his father, an alcoholic who took out his troubles on his wife and three young boys. He often got into trouble with the police, engaging in illegal acts such as thievery. In his early years,Liam did not show a particular interest in music.

In his late teenage years, Gallagher began to show interest in bands such as the Kinks and the Beatles. A schoolmate and friend of Liam's, Paul McGuigan, invited him to join his band “The Rain” as a vocalist. Liam subsequently joined the band, which was later renamed “Oasis”, a demand of Liam's. In addition to lead vocalist, Liam became co-songwriter for the band, along with Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs. The band was suffering due to week lyrics, and Liam realized that they needed a songwriter with incredible talent. He knew that his brother Noel would be perfect for the part, and asked him to jump on board. Noel agreed under one condition: the band would not perform any of Liam's music.

As “Oasis” gained more popularity, and rose to the top of the charts, Liam became known for his bad-boy, erratic, drunken behavior. On April 7, 1997, Liam married Patsy Kensit. In January of 1998 a member of “Kill City”, Lisa Moorish, gave birth to Liam's child, a daughter named Molly, who was conceived after an affair Liam had only a week after he married Kensit. Liam and Kensit divorced in September of 2000, just about a year after the birth of his second child, Lennon (named after John Lennon of the Beatles). Currently, it appears Liam has cleaned up his act, and is not as crude as he once was. Despite Noel's conditions when he decided to join the band, Liam has had another go at songwriting. He has written songs including “Love Like a Bomb” and “Songbird”.

Noel Gallagher
Noel Gallagher was born on May 29, 1967 in Manchester, England. He is the lead songwriter and guitarist for the band, and does some vocals. Noel is the middle child of three sons, his younger brother being Liam, the lead singer of “Oasis”. As a child, Noel was beaten by his abusive father Thomas. Growing up in the city of Manchester, Noel turned to a life of crime at a young age. At the age of thirteen, he received six months of probation for robbing a corner shop. In efforts to keep him out of trouble, Noel was pretty much confined to his room. To pass the time, he picked up a guitar and began imitating his favorite songs. As a young teenager, Noel, Liam, their oldest brother Paul, and their mother Peggy took all of their belongings and fled from the abusive wrath of Thomas Gallagher, Noel’s father.

Noel began working for a building firm sub-contracted to British-Gas. After an injury left Noel with a crushed foot, he was transferred to a less demanding job in the company’s storehouse. This job gave Noel the time to write more music. Gallagher claims to have written such songs as “Live Forever” and “Columbia” in the storeroom. Incredibly interested in music, and dying to get out of Manchester, Noel auditioned to be a vocalist for the band “Inspirational Carpets”.

Although they liked his voice, he wasn't exactly what they were looking for. They hired him as a guitar technician, and he toured with the band. Later, brother Liam approached him, and persuaded him to join the band as a songwriter and guitarist. Noel agreed, under the condition that he would have complete songwriting control. With Noel, the band “Oasis” became a huge hit in Britain and across the world. On June 5, 1997, Noel married his girlfriend, Meg Matthews.

On January 27, 2000, Matthews gave birth to Noel's daughter, Anais. Shortly afterwards, the couple divorced. Since then, Noel has been seen with Scottish girlfriend Sara MacDonald. Noel’s presence in “Oasis” has been extremely important in helping the band become what it is today.
Gem Archer
Colin Archer was born on December 7, 1966 in Durham, England. He goes by Gem, after the Scottish football player, Archie Gemmill. As a member of Oasis, Gem plays the rhythm guitar. Gem's musical career began in the mid-80's with a band named Whirlpool.

In the early 90's, when Whirlpool split up, Gem became the singer and guitarist for a glam rock band, signed with Creation Records, called Heavy Stereo. Heavy Stereo did not have much success, and only put out one album.

Shortly after Heavy Stereo's album was released, Oasis had announced that Bonehead had left the band. Archer, who was a huge fan of Oasis, was pleased to get a call from Noel asking him to join the band. Gem has written some songs for Oasis, including Hung in a Bad Place from Oasis' fifth album, Heathen Chemistry.
Andy Bell
Andy Bell was born on August 11, 1970 in Cardiff, Wales. Not an original member of the band, he plays the bass guitar and is a songwriter for Oasis. Before Oasis, Bell formed a band called Ride with friends Mark Gardener, Laurence Colbert, and Steve Queralt. Ride and Oasis were both part of the same record label, Creation Records. As a result, Andy Bell came to know Noel and Liam and often partied with them.

The band Ride broke up, and Bell went on to sign with another band at the same record label, Hurricane #1. This band did not experience much success, so in 1999 Bell took time off from it to tour as a guitarist with yet another band, Gay Dad.

At this time, Bonehead and Guigsy of Oasis had left the band, and Noel and Liam were looking for replacements. Gem Archer, the former Heavy Stereo front man, had joined Oasis as the rhythm guitarist. Liam Gallagher wanted Andy Bell to join his band, and Bell took him up on his offer. Bell learned to play bass before he performed a gig with the band. To date, Bell has written some songs for Oasis including 'Turn up the Sun' and 'Keep the Dream Alive'.
